"In memory of" is a performance work in which Schoenberg hosts her own funeral in which she performs a eulogy, which is made up of various eulogies submitted by family and friends based on a online template. The work brings up questions around the rituals found in systems of death used to cope with and address loss. In exploring the notions of hosting one's own funeral, the responses to the eulogies and the conversation surrounding retrieving these artifacts of relationships became the priority in the work. To convey this the eulogy was performed with tableau style postures assigned based on the various phrases, to indicate each person's contribution and their relationship to the act of writing or not writing a eulogy.
